“Our planning process was kind of surreal, it all came together within a few months. We got engaged early September 2018 and Steve, being in the Military, was due to be away much of 2019, so we got on and booked most things fairly quickly! We went to a few wedding fayres and it helped us decided on some of the main ideas for our day.
Gin was definitely going to be our theme (Steve proposed at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery) and we both wanted the day to be as much about our family and friends as it was us. They are such a huge part of our lives and we wanted to give them a good party. Steve also has a son, Sebastian, from a previous marriage so we wanted him to be involved as much as possible. He was appointed Mini Best Man and when we were writing our vows, I did an extra promise from myself to Sebastian.
Sheryl was always in my mind to be our photographer, I’ve known her for nearly 9 years now and have loved watching her photography develop over the years. She has a recognisable style and is such a fun, bubbly character, I knew Steve would love her just as much as I do.
Although we spoke to other photographers at the fayres, (which I have to admit sort of felt like cheating on Sheryl), when it came to price, package and personality…..none of them compared! We had a meeting to discuss ideas and immediately Steve was on board!
We did an engagement/pre wedding shoot and included Sebastian and the four legged children (dogs!). This was amazing and something I highly recommend doing. It was a chance for Steve and Sebastian to get to know Sheryl and be comfortable with her on the day. I think this is 100% the reason she got some brilliant shots of Sebastian giving her cheeky grins and looks throughout the day. She has a superb eye for detail and we are both so pleased with all the photos, memories we will always treasure.
We have so many special mentions as we feel so lucky to have had the most amazing suppliers; from the stationary, decorations, flowers, cake, entertainment, dress, hair and make up. Everyone worked so hard to make sure our day was perfect.
We cannot thank them enough and wouldn’t change a thing. “
