Paige and Steve got married in July 2021, just before all the wedding restrictions were lifted. I am delighted to finally feature their wedding on the blog that has been sadly neglected for the best part of 18 months! Lets change that! Oobaloos Photography, based in Gloucestershire but travels through England and Wales is BACK!
I asked our happy couple to tell us a little about their day…
“We got married at the picturesque Blackwell Grange which is situated in the heart of Shipston-on-Stour. Blackwell Grange was actually the first wedding venue we went to see in person and we both just loved it instantly – it had such a good feel about it and everything down to the attention to detail of the decor and little touches, such as the mirror placed at the back of the aisle so you could see yourself as Mr & Mrs as soon as you turned to face your guests sold us and we just loved everything about it!
Special memories
The best part of the wedding planning process for me would have to be between finding my wedding dress in the same shop my mum had bought hers 28 years before (so special!) and receiving messages from family and friends when they received their invitations in the post as they were just as excited as us!
As Blackwell Grange is a converted barn, and a lot of the original elements are still there, such as the original thatched barn and stunning surrounding views, it was important to us to stay in keeping with this feel with rustic and romantic styling.

We opted for a navy and blush pink colour scheme with copper accents which was incorporated throughout the day, from the bridesmaid dresses to the napkins.
Looking for a Gloucestershire/ Midlands Wedding Photographer…
Finding a natural wedding photographer was one of the most important things to us as we both prefer those type of photos as they always come out the best! After a little search online for “top natural photographers” we came across Sheryl and fell in LOVE with how she captures each couple’s special day and we were over the moon when she told us she was available to immortalise our wedding day too! Although she is based in Gloucestershire, she told us she travels all over England and Wales which we were so pleased about.
Memorable bits
The most memorable part of the wedding day was seeing the smiles on all our guests faces throughout the day, after the year we’ve all been through it was so special to have something to celebrate and lovely to have everyone back together again. And of course, seeing my now husband waiting for me at the end of the aisle!!
Top tips
A friend of mine actually gave me the best advice the night before which I need to pass on and that was taking 5 minutes to ourselves after the ceremony to 1) have a breather but 2) to soak it all in! It really does fly by and all those months/years of planning will be worth it when you’re at the aisle holding your future husbands/wife’s hand.”
