Cotswolds Wedding Photography: Oxleaze Barn
Rachel and Nate got married on one if the windiest days I have ever seen! Luckily it was mostly dry but boy! Was it breezy!?! Rachel took it all in her stride, even with her beautifully styled hair being blown about like crazy just getting to the church!
When I first met Rach and Nate, I could tell they were both extremely nervous about the prospect of having their photo taken. They wanted natural yet creative wedding photography so it was very important to them that they felt totally comfortable with their wedding photographer. After all, Im a loveable gooseberry, and I am with you ALL DAY!!
I suggested that they book in with me for a Pre Wedding shoot, or ‘Engagement Shoot’ so they knew what to expect for their couples pictures and so that we could get to know each other better. I have included a couple of images from that shoot. I loved Rach’s choice of red to go with the sprinkling of snow on the ground and Rococco Gardens provided a beautiful backdrop. It took them a little while to warm up but they nailed it!
On their Wedding Day, after the wedding breakfast, Rach, Nate and myself went for a stroll in the sunset to capture their Couples shots. The wind had calmed to a gentle breeze, just enough to create some movement in her hair and dress. This was perfect for me to grab some freelensed images. See if you can spot those ones!
Freelensing is one of the methods I use for creating unique and dreamy shots. It works best when you two are super close to each other, catching a plane of focus and leaving the rest in a romantic blur. It is one of my favourite ways to completely change the perspective on the shoot.
Since Rach and Nate had had their pre wedding shoot for practise, and a few tipples over the day, they absolutely killed this session! I just kept shooting and its probably one of the most extensive couples sessions I have ever done on a wedding day because we were having so much fun. Rachel loved picking lots of areas around the extensive grounds at Oxleaze Barn (these are private garden are just for the wedding couple for photos) and I was more than happy to oblige with setting up the shots for the light and letting them run with it!
I hope you like scrolling through their day at Oxleaze Barn, Lechlade!

Kind words from Rachel & Nate;
“After trudging through the internet we finally came across Sheryl’s beautiful website with a stunning gallery and that sold it to us straight away! When we met for the engagement shoot, my husband and I were both very nervous and slightly awkward but Sheryl made us feel as ease very quickly. This was a good starting point leading up to the big day.
On our wedding day, Sheryl was brilliant, made us all feel at ease and had a few laughs at the same time. We are so pleased with our photos and will cherish them forever. Also you get a stunning USB stick to keep too! Thank you so much Sheryl, highly recommended!”
